Post A - System Engineer  (at the rank of Computer Technician I / II)

Appointee will be responsible for installation, configuration and troubleshooting of PC. S/he will also need to perform problem diagnostic of Windows workstation, prepare Windows workstation OS related documentation and daily helpdesk support.

 

Qualifications Required:

At least a sub-degree in the relevant discipline, and some relevant work experience. (Fresh graduates will also be considered.)

In-depth knowledge of Microsoft software such as Windows 10/7/Vista/XP, Office, application on-demand, computer security and system performance monitoring utilities, and remote system configuration and administration tools, etc.

Profound knowledge in Internet technology, TCP/IP protocols and LAN/WAN network topologies.

Sound skills and techniques in system and network problem diagnosis and troubleshooting.

Knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory/LDAP, Exchange, Linux, VMware is an advantage, preferable but not essential

Good command in both written and spoken English and Chinese.

 

Post B - System Engineer  (at the rank of Computer Technician I / II)

Appointee is mainly responsible for the setup, administration, maintenance and support of a large system and network infrastructure for the school. His/her duties also include system and network security monitoring and control, server and network products/services evaluation and acquisition, system and user documentation, conducting user training, support to IT audits, and liaising with other units in various IT projects/tasks.

 

Qualifications Required:

A Bachelor degree in IT related disciplines plus at least four years relevant working experience in IT service department and IT operational support;

Proficiency in VMware hypervisor, Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Group Policy, Linux operating systems and SQLServer/Mysql database systems, and their backup and restore management, operational management and system administration;

In-depth knowledge of computer security and system performance monitoring utilities, and remote system configuration and administration tools, etc.;

In-depth knowledge of Microsoft software such as Windows 10/7/Vista/XP, Office, application on-demand, computer security and system performance monitoring utilities, and remote system configuration and administration tools, etc.

Profound knowledge in Internet technology, TCP/IP protocols and LAN/WAN network topologies.

Sound skills and techniques in system and network problem diagnosis and troubleshooting.

Familiarity with higher-education institution’s IT operation and needs is highly preferable.

Good analytical and problem solving skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and excellence in team playing and work attitude.

Fluency in both written and spoken English and Chinese.

 

Terms of Appointment: Salary placement will commensurate with qualifications and experience. The contract will normally be 2 years with possibility of renewal subject to review. Gratuity payment, medical benefits, 5-day work week and 18-day annual leave will be provided.
