To prepare for coming legislative amendments to the Post Secondary Colleges Ordinance (Cap.320), Po Leung Kuk (PLK) and HKU SPACE have reviewed the current operations of the HKU SPACE Po Leung Kuk Stanley Ho Community College (College) and reached a consensus that both parties should continue and strengthen their partnership on a long-term basis, which will bring maximum benefits to students of the College.  To this end, HKU SPACE will undertake a greater management role in the operations of HPSHCC.  Given the rich academic and continuing learning background of HKU SPACE, they could enhance the learning experience of students with a wide range of programmes offered. PLK will continue offering professional advice in programmes related to PLK’s mission as well as support in career planning and internship programmes for students. New degree programmes, including in areas relevant to PLK’s scope of service will also be offered.

In view of the above development, Prof. Chan Hon Suen has decided to step down from his position to tie in with the future development of the College. The College Council has appointed Professor William K. M. Lee as the College Principal with immediate effect (22/03/2024).  Professor Lee is also the current Director of HKU SPACE.

Meanwhile, the Council would like to express their sincere thanks to Prof. Chan Hon Suen for his contributed efforts during the tenure as the President of the College.
