Guide for New Students

1. Academic Qualification Verification and New Student Registration

To successfully register with the College, new students are required to complete the following procedures before the start of semester (i.e. mid-September):

  • Academic Qualification Verification

  • New Student Registration

New Student Registration

An email regarding the details of 2-stages registration will be sent to you from mid-August.

 

Stage 1 (Online)

You are required to fill out the online student enrolment form via a unique link provided in the email.

 

Stage 2 (On Campus)

You are required to come to the campus to complete the below procedures according to the timeslot (26 - 28 August, 31 August - 4 September, 7 and 9 September) specified in the email:

1.       Present the following documents to our staff for verification:

          For local students:

  • original of your Hong Kong Identity Card;

  • original of proof of your academic qualifications uploaded to the College’s Document Upload System (e.g. HKDSE result slip, GCE/ GCSE/ IGCSE result slip, Foundation Diploma transcript/certificate)

          For non-local students (including students from Chinese Mainland, Macau and Taiwan):

  • original and photo copy of the following items:

    • Your Passport/ Exit-Entry Permit for Travelling to and from Hong Kong and Macau; and

    • Your visa label and landing slip (including the latest and previous ones);

  • original of proof of your academic qualifications uploaded to the College’s Document Upload System (e.g. award certificate, transcript) (NOT applicable to Gaokao holders)

2.       Take photo for Student Identity Card and Facilities Access Card;

3.       Fill out surveys and forms; and

4.       Collect your tuition fees payment receipt.

Students are required to complete the Academic Qualification Verification and registration New Student Registration on time, the College reserves the right to temporarily suspend or nullify their enrollments in the College in case of non-completion.

 

Student ID

Students will receive their Student ID by email in early September, after completing the following:

For local students:

  • Upload a signed Declaration Form to the College’s Document Upload System (applicable to programmes under Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions/ Sectors (SSSDP) only, please click HERE for details);

  • Complete Academic Qualification Verification^; and

  • Complete Registration for New Students – Stage 1 (Online)

 

For non-local students (including students from Chinese Mainland, Macau and Taiwan):

  • Complete Academic Qualification Verification^;

  • Complete Registration for New Students – Stage 1 (Online); and

  • Submit the original and photo copy of your visa label and landing slip (including the latest and previous ones) on the day of New Student Registration – Stage 2 (On Campus).

 

After receiving the Student ID, students can use it to activate their account for the College’s “one-stop” online platform: Learner Portal and access to their class timetable.

 

^ Not applicable to students holding the following qualifications:
  • HKDSE
  • Diploma in Foundation Studies, Associate Degree and Higher Diploma of HKU SPACE Community College
  • Qualifi Level 4 Diploma
