I made a right choice of studying at the College two years ago. I do not only acquire knowledge about Psychology, but also gain some useful skills through taking part in the events, workshops and seminars held and promoted by the Student Development Resource Center (SDRC). What is more, being a Student Ambassador enriched my college life. The counsellors are nice and supportive. They always provide informative news and guidance on my further studies. The lecturers are professional and responsive. I had a great time and a lot of good memories in these two fruitful years.

Reviewing my 2-year study at the College, I would not say it is relaxing throughout all times, but I would not say it is tough either. Instead, it is one of the most memorable moments of my life. I still remember that anxious feeling I had when I first entered the College: worrying that I may not make friends, not being able to catch up with school work and was afraid my future may not go the way I want it to be. Now that I look back, I discover I did not only have buddies who can share each other’s deep feelings, lecturers who teach from their hearts and counsellors who always place student concerns as their top priority, but also knowledge and abilities that are useful in universities or even lifetime. With everyone’s support and encouragement, together with a do-my-best spirit on all assignments and presentations, my dream – entering a university that I have been longing for has come true.

Throughout the two years at the College, not only did I acquire knowledge regarding Social Sciences and Psychology which helped consolidate my academic basis, I also understood and knew myself better. Like many others, I was anxious when I first came to the College. I chose Psychology back then only because I knew I like working with others, especially children, and I was interested in a career relating to counselling. However, with exposure to different areas of Psychology through different courses, joining talks and workshops organised by the College, learning lecturers’ experiences and having heard their advices, I discovered and realised my interest and how my career pathway should be. Besides academic aspects, the College also helped mold me into a better person with greater confidence.

Regarding the 2-year study at the College, I have gained more than I expected. The College is not only a place to acquire knowledge or a stepping-stone to the university, but also a place turning me to be more mature to meet the requirement of the future world. Apart from providing an alternative pathway to enter the university, the College has also provided me with a variety of platforms to extend learning beyond academic studies. I was chosen as a Student Ambassador and the representative of the College joining a joint college study tour. From these precious experiences, I have widened my scope and expanded my social connection. Furthermore, I have rebuilt self-confidence in these two years. The support from lecturers and the resources provided by the College enable me to pursue excellence in my studies. The courses also allow me to study in different psychology disciplines, such as developmental psychology and abnormal psychology, which provide me with a very strong foundation to continue my studies in the degree programme and inspire my career choice.

To me, studying at the College was a memorable learning experience. Looking back to these three years at the College, I am thankful for what I have gained and learnt here. I remember when I first came to this College, I was anxious of adapting to this new environment. The learning style here is totally different from that of secondary schools. It emphasises self-learning, self-discipline, independent and critical thinking which is challenging but indeed helps me to prepare for my future study at university. Besides, students here are equipped with various learning opportunities apart from classroom learning. During my study, I was fortunate to have a chance to join the Beijing and Tianjin study tour. I explored more about these two cities and also myself. I had chances to try out things that I have not encountered before and met people with different cultural background.

I felt that I am now equipped with basic professional knowledge in different fields. Besides studying Psychology, we also had opportunities to explore different areas of knowledge, such as history, popular culture and management. During these 3 years, apart from nourishing myself with knowledge, I had an enjoyable time with classmates since this school provides me a chance to open up myself more in friendship and learn how to get others to have a deeper understanding of me.

As time flies like an arrow, my fruitful life at the College has officially come to an end. In the past 3 years, what I gained from the College was not only knowledge from books but also a sense of self-affirmation, a group of true friends, a more consolidated basis on learning and a better me. It gave me a clearer concept on how to strive for my best to achieve my goal which may help me a lot throughout the rest of my life. In conclusion, the College is not just a stepping stone for further studying but a platform which you can improve and enrich yourself.

In these two years, my horizon has been broadened as I have learnt different disciplines of social sciences which cannot be learnt in secondary school. The programme enriches my knowledge and provides me with strong foundation in social sciences for my further studies. It also emphasises different aspects of Psychology, such as Social Psychology and Developmental Psychology, which arouses my interest in Psychology. "Studying Psychology at the College has trained me to become a well-equipped person, while also constructing a consolidated foundation in many areas for post-graduate studies, for example in Social Psychology, Developmental Psychology and Abnormal Psychology. Aside from building confidence in relation to my studies, I also enjoyed school life with my fellow students. Within the classroom we worked hard and studied together, while out of the class we spent time together having fun and enjoying our free-time. I am fortunate to have studied Psychology at university, while also enjoying a fruitful and enjoyable campus life.
I believe that the programmes that the College offer provide great support for students with determined goals for the future."

"When I first came into the College, I was full of worries. I chose Psychology purely out of interest, but I did not know if it was a right decision. I was not sure whether what I learn would really relate to my future or not. However, it was thanks to the effort of the thoughtful and patient lecturers that I now have a much clearer picture with regards to my goals in life.
Now when I look back, I am thankful to have the College equip me with the required skills in the field of Psychology. In this campus, it is not about one-way teaching-and-learning, but two-way interaction. The lecturers are approachable and always encourage the students to explore methods to their solutions. Not only can students benefit from the joy of learning, but they are also given lots of opportunities to take part in various extra-curricular activities and services. I am glad to have become one of the Student Ambassadors during my time at the College, as it strengthens my interpersonal skills and provides me a chance to contribute to the college. These experiences could hardly be found in elsewhere."

It was a great and unforgettable experience for me to study at the College before I transferred to the Chinese University of Hong Kong. At the College, not only did I learn valuable academic knowledge during classes, but I also met a lot of trustworthy and kind friends. For my own personal development, I became more willing to socialise with my peers, think independently and to become more analytical – in turn this led me to become able to solve various difficulties with distinct proficiency.
