Guide for New Students

1. Academic Qualification Verification and Registration for New Students

Academic Qualification Verification

Students holding non-HKDSE qualifications are required to complete the academic qualification verification as stated on the offer email. Please click HERE for the procedures and deadlines for different types of qualification.

 

Registration for New Students

All new students are required to complete the registration which consists of 2 stages. An email regarding details of the 2 stages registration will be sent to you from mid-August.

 

Stage 1 (Online)

Please follow the instructions in the email to complete the below steps when you receive the email:

  1. Fill out the online student enrolment form;
  2. Upload your signed declaration form for claiming *SSSDP subsidy from the Education Bureau (Applicable to local students enroled in ^10 Higher Diploma (HD) programmes); and
  3. Upload your supporting document(s) for applying for special arrangements for continuous assessments and/ or examinations in courses (if applicable).

 

* SSSDP refers to Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions/ Sectors.
 
^ The 10 Higher Diploma programmes are:
  • HD in Food Health and Business Management
  • HD in Food Science and Safety
  • HD in Health and Social Care
  • HD in Hotel Management
  • HD in Medical and Health Products Management
  • HD in Nutrition and Food Management
  • HD in Sport and Recreation Management
  • HD in Sport Coaching and Sport Performance
  • HD in Tourism and Events Management
  • HD in Tourism and Hospitality Management

 

Stage 2 (On Campus)

You will be required to come to the campus to complete the below procedures according to the timeslot (27-29 August, 2-5 September) specified in the email:

1.       Present the following documents to our staff for verification:

          For local students:

  • original of your Hong Kong Identity Card;

  • original of proof of your academic qualifications submitted to the College before (e.g. HKDSE result slip, GCE/ GCSE/ IGCSE result slip) (for HKDSE qualification holders only)

          For non-local students (including students from Mainland China, Macau and Taiwan):

  • original and photo copy of the following items:

    • Your Passport/ Exit-Entry Permit for Travelling to and from Hong Kong and Macau; and

    • Your visa label and landing slip (including the latest and previous ones);

  • original of proof of your academic qualifications submitted to the College before (e.g. award certificate, transcript)

2.       Take photo for Student Identity Card and Facilities Access Card;

3.       Fill out surveys and forms; and

4.       Collect your tuition fees payment receipt.

Students are required to complete the registration on time, the College reserves the right to temporarily suspend or nullify their enrolments in the College in case of non-completion of registration.

 

Student ID

Students will receive their Student ID by email in early September, after completing the following:

For local students:

  • Complete Academic Qualification Verification (for students holding non-HKDSE qualifications); and

  • Complete Registration for New Students – Stage 1 (Online)

For non-local students (including students from Mainland China, Macau and Taiwan):

  • Complete Academic Qualification Verification (for students holding non-HKDSE qualifications);

  • Complete Registration for New Students – Stage 1 (Online); and

  • Submit the original and photo copy of your visa label and landing slip (including the latest and previous ones) on the day of Registration for New Students – Stage 2 (On Campus).

After receiving the Student ID, students can use it to activate their account for the College’s “one-stop” online platform: Learner Portal and access to their class timetable.
