In summer 2015, students of Higher Diploma in Nutrition and Food Management programme held a series of nutrition talks in a local community center. As part of their outreach project, the students organized health talks on 4 different areas, including DASH diet, childhood obesity, benefits of fiber, and tips on Mid-Autumn festival diet. Creative and interactive activities, such as cooking demonstration, food tasting, and exercise, were incorporated to increase the understanding and awareness of the participants who enjoyed the activities and learnt practical skills about healthy diets. Students gained invaluable experience that help them to develop their career in promotion of nutrition.
