College Life

I have gained a great deal of valuable experience throughout this two-year programme. In addition to basic nursing skills, the programme also covers areas such as physiotherapy and occupational therapy, which have greatly broadened my horizons. The teachers are highly professional and passionate. They teach us the theory behind how muscles work and guide us through practical skills such as changing diapers, enabling us to develop both theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience. I am very grateful for the support of my lecturers and classmates. This learning environment has helped me build my confidence and reinforced my goal of becoming a nurse and serving the community in the future.

Life is full of turning points, and I am grateful that HPSHCC became one of mine. It helped me regain my confidence and passion for learning.

During my two years at the College, the curriculum strengthened my medical knowledge, while extracurricular activities taught me resilience, empathy, and the importance of staying focused on my goals. Our lecturers not only taught us fundamental medical knowledge but also provided valuable hands-on opportunities, enabling me to apply what I learned during clinical placements. The programme broadened my horizons by allowing me to interact with people with rehabilitation needs, understand current healthcare demands, and learn how different rehabilitation equipment is used. I also joined extracurricular activities organised by the Student Development Resource Centre, where I exchanged ideas with students from other disciplines. Each new experience helped me discover different sides of myself.

Finally, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to every lecturer for their guidance and support, as well as to my classmates for their teamwork and friendship. Their support has enabled me to grow and learn from every challenge. Looking ahead, I am ready to embrace new challenges and excited to begin a new chapter at university.

The College offers a practical and diversified curriculum, covering a range of healthcare-related subjects and hands-on training. The programme includes different forms of class exercises, tests, and simulation training, giving me opportunities to try repeatedly, learn from my mistakes, and grow gradually.

During my two years of study in the Higher Diploma programme, I met a group of like-minded peers, while the lecturers also provided valuable advice on further studies and academic guidance, enabling me to develop both my theoretical foundation and clinical skills. This precious learning experience has also nurtured in me a persevering attitude and the determination never to give up easily.

During my two years in the Higher Diploma in Applied Health and Rehabilitation Care, the integration of theoretical learning and clinical practice enabled me to build a solid foundation in healthcare knowledge and nursing skills, laying strong groundwork for my academic advancement.

Facing various challenges in both academic and clinical settings not only strengthened my problem-solving abilities but also boosted my confidence as I overcame them. These valuable experiences, accumulated step by step, have fostered my personal growth and well prepared me for my future academic journey.

Over the past two years, the College has not only equipped me with a wealth of academic knowledge but has also instilled invaluable life lessons.

Throughout this journey, I have encountered numerous setbacks and obstacles. However, navigating these difficulties ultimately strengthened my resolve and fostered my resilience. When faced with complex problems, I learned to remain calm, adjust my mindset, and proactively pursue solutions. I am confident that whatever the future holds, I possess the composure and determination to rise to the occasion and overcome any adversity.

Having studied at the College for two years, I have built a solid foundation in medical knowledge and practical skills. Through studying topics related to physiotherapy and occupational therapy, I broadened my understanding of rehabilitation care. I came to realise that rehabilitation is not limited to nursing care, but also involves promoting patients’ mobility, safety, and independence. This helped me gain a deeper understanding of the roles and requirements of professionals in different healthcare fields.

In addition, during my internship, I developed patient care skills, which greatly enhanced my confidence and practical abilities in clinical settings. I also learnt to adopt a patient-centred approach, enabling me to better understand patients’ needs and mobility, and to support their daily rehabilitation process from a professional perspective.

Lastly, I would like to sincerely thank all my lecturers for their dedication and professional guidance. They helped me connect theory with practice, improved my problem-solving abilities, and taught me how to prioritise urgent issues in real clinical situations.

I am truly grateful for my two years in the Higher Diploma in Applied Health and Rehabilitation Care programme at HPSHCC, as they have provided me with a solid foundation for my career in healthcare. Throughout this learning journey, I was able to discover my interests and gain many valuable practical opportunities.
