I studied an Associate Degree since I was deeply frustrated by the result of my AL exam; I studied Human Resource Management and Development at the College since I found that this programme allowed me to pursue further studies in social science and HR stream. Days in the College was not easy, I had to adapt the learning style which is different from secondary school. Furthermore, waiting for an interview did cost my patience, not to mention an offer, Fortunately, I got lots of support from the counsellors and friends who keep encouraging me to look for the good. Every dark side has a silver lining. I am really glad to be a university student.

Studying at the College gave me a chance to work closely with different kinds of people that helped to generate some new and better ideas in handling schoolwork as well as problem solving, all of which enhanced my critical thinking. I believed that the knowledge and experience I have acquired here could undoubtedly help me adapt to university life more easily and I am now well-equipped to face new challenges in the future.

- Year 2, BSocSc (Hons) in Global and Environmental Studies, The Hong Kong Institute of Education
Studying at the College gave me a valuable and unforgettable memory in my school life. Besides practical knowledge, extraordinary learning opportunities are also given by the College which nurtures me to be an independent individual who can think critically. I have been involved in a service team - V-Circle at the College and was able to serve the street sleepers in Hong Kong. This valuable experience provided me the chance to look at the life of inferior groups in Hong Kong and provoked me to ponder on social issues in our society.

"During my year at the College, I gained vast amounts of experience and knowledge in relation to my personal development and study.
Like many others, I was deeply disappointed and frustrated when I was unable to secure a place at university. However, the College has provided me with an opportunity to equip myself and reach my maximum potential in order to prepare for the many predicaments that await us in life. The learning style at the College emphasises on critical-thinking and self-learning, something I feel is necessary for future society. Aside from my time studying here, it was my pleasure to become a student ambassador at the College. Not only was I able to work as a team, but I was also able to act as a bridge between the students and the College. Therefore, my time studying at the College was an unforgettable experience and my word of advice for future students is to trust and believe in yourself and you can achieve anything!"

2010 Bachelor of Social Sciences, The University of Hong Kong (Received 3 UGC-funded Degree Programmes offers, including The University of Hong Kong, City University of Hong Kong and Hong Kong Baptist University)
My A-level results were not satisfactory enough to further my study in university. To be frank, I ended up choosing the College solely because I was interested in the programme offered here.
2 years may not be a long time in life but it was hard enough for me to decide whether I should continue my study in Associate Degree programme. At the beginning, I felt a bit frustrated as I had no friends in the campus, and the teaching and learning style was entirely different from that in the secondary school. Thanks to the College, I am studying well in HKU now.
What I have gained is not only knowledge but also friendship and lecturers' caring. Without their support, I may not be able to finish all the essays, presentations and exams. Special thanks to the lecturers as they share many real life experiences with us and we really learn a lot from them.
So, believe in yourself. No pain, No gain. Everything is going to be fine if you try hard!

Human Resource Management" makes no difference to the "General Management". However, upon completing this programme at the College, I came to realise that “Human Resource Management
On the other hand, the programme content is highly related to the study in university, which greatly helps facilitate my adaptation to the university life. Besides, the lecturers at the College are well experienced in the industry who are able to explain the abstract concepts and theories explicitly and vividly with their own practical experience, thereby reinforcing our understanding of the topics as well as giving us a general picture about the real business world. All in all, I really enjoyed studying at the College during the past two years, and surely it was beneficial to my future career as well.
