College Life

Upon completion of this programme, I have reaffirmed my further study goal. The knowledge of social sciences and psychology that I have learnt during the past 2 years offered me a new perspective to solve the problems encountered. Besides, I have established positive relationships with my lecturers and classmates. Getting along well with them helped me to build up possible attitude to face future obstacles.

My target was to get into a local university when I first enrolled in this programme. I did not have a clear idea aboutmy interestand further study plan. After studying at this College for two years, I have changed a lot. Since this programme consists of two academic fields, with various business and social sciences related courses, it helps me to figure out my targets in the future. All lecturers are willing to help us to achieve our dreams. In the past two years, I believe I have proved the saying 'practice makes perfect'.

It was an unforgettable experience studying at this College. The programme content and structure is very flexible. The policy of student-oriented teaching is a distinguishing characteristic which can provide students like me with more opportunities to enhance their communication and speaking skills. Studying here is a great platform for students well-prepared to continue their studies in University. Besides, this College is full of love and support. I am really glad to say that I have been rewarded at the College for all my efforts.

I am happy I have made a right choice to study in Higher Diploma in the College. Without an university offer, I did not consider to retake HKDSE, as I the study mode of intensive recitation is not suitable for me. The learning mode of the College is interactive and flexible. Teachers are very supportive and helping us to achieve better. Although sometimes doing different projects concurrently can be very tiring, my group mates, also my friends helped each other. When we achieved excellent grades, we realized that our effort paid off. Through conducting different presentations, my confidence was enhanced. I am very grateful that the College and my friends provided me a with chance of further study.

I knew that it was not suitable for me to study science subjects because of the failure in public examination. However, I did not realise which subject was the right one for me. Luckily, I can study both Business and Social Sciences that I find my interest and strength. I can have more choices when applying for university too.

Studying at the College helped me to learn the relevant professional knowledge; and supported me to get into university. Different methods were adopted, such as debate and projects, to train our thinking and application. In addition, the lecturers are supportive and willing to teach students and answer questions. Besides, the counsellors provided many useful advices coupled with the adequate resources, which helped the students to find their own future and further studies.

Thanks to the innovative programme blending psychology in business management, from which I did not only acquire a lot from studying these related fields in various angles, but also conduced to my better understanding of own strengths and interest, which are useful to my future. Interestingly, the busy workloads and tight schedule each semester conversely contributed me to be further well-organised and determined to overcome different kinds of trouble. All the guidance and support from dedicated lecturers, like-minded classmaates, as well as zealous counsellors of the College were part and parcel to my advancement.

Studying at this College was definitely one of my memorable experiences. Through the lectures and projects, I have learnt different academic professional knowledge and cooperation and collaboration skills through various projects and case studies. This is beyond the question that what I have gained exceeds what I expected in the first place. Besides, the College has been serving as a great platform for students to look for further studies that the support and advice from the lecturers and counsellors have helped me to fulfill my ultimate goal all along the way. I am really glad to see my effort did pay off now.

The training on meeting deadlines of homework assignments and school projects has greatly improved my time management skills. I am grateful to be a part of the College where student needs are prioritised. Within these few years, I was exposed to many activities such as the singing of the College -- winning 1^st and 2^nd for duet and solo verse respectively. The opportunity gave me insight on my capabilities and was definitely one of my most unforgettable moments in my life! I am happy and proud to say that I have shared a memorable school experience with many amazing friends and College staff as well.

HPSHCC provided me with a platform to explore my interests, build up confidence and set my goals. If you are willing to make efforts, you will definitely acquire what you want in this College. After my first lecture at the College, I had set my own objectives and study plans for entering the university. HPSHCC provided me with a clear route and direction. Lecturers offered me a lot of help as I did not only learn academic knowledge from them, but also the real-life experiences they shared with us. I believed these are important in the field of social sciences and even the business sector in Hong Kong.
