Throughout two years of higher diploma, the programme curriculum covered fundamental knowledge of medical and pharmacological science, including anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, and pharmacology. It developed my analytical and communication skills during laboratory practices. The programme not only covered the professional knowledge in the medical field, but the lecturers also gave me treasurable advice during consultation. My DSE result was not satisfactory so I decided to find another way to articulate to university by choosing to study in this programme. Affected by the pandemic, most of the lessons were switched from face-to-face to online mode. However, I think this change of teaching mode did not affect my learning because teachers effectively upload the teaching recordings after classes for our easy reference. When we encounter any difficulties, we can contact our teachers through online chatbox and email. They usually reply in a timely manner. My dream was always to become a nurse. After the two years of study in Higher Diploma, I applied for university programmes through Non-Jupas channel. The College provided lots of support, including seminars and interview workshops, which helped me a lot in articulating to my desired university programme.

My two years of study at HPSHCC was enjoyable and rewarding. I had valuable experiences from the summer internship at Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine in HKU and the study tour in Taiwan. Moreover, I was a Student Ambassador of the College and participated in various voluntary works. I improved my communication and interpersonal skills, and strengthened my knowledge in the medical field.
I am honoured to be awarded the Service Award and a Government Scholarship which have proven my hard work. The effort I put in these years allowed me to study the programme I like in the university.

Some people think that a higher diploma is not professional. However, I realised how blessed I am to study the Higher Diploma programme in Medical and Health Products Management. It provides me another platform to articulate to the university and helps me recognise my goals. Throughout the 2-year programme, I learnt different aspects of knowledge, which are useful for further studies. For example, Anatomy & Physiology, Pharmacology, Drug Action and so on. Through diversified learning, I have more choices to choose from university. Furthermore, all the lecturers are helpful and nice, as friends and teachers. Not only did they answer our academic questions, but also gave useful advice about further studies. Thanks for their enthusiastic teaching in the past two years.

After the public examination, I applied to HKU SPACE Po Leung Kuk Stanley Ho Community College for the Higher Diploma programme in Medical and Health Products Management. I am glad that I have had the opportunity to study at HPSHCC. During the past two years, I acquired medical knowledge in different aspects, such as physiology and drug action. The programme taught me basic medical knowledge such as physiology and pharmacology, which is beneficial when I study related courses in the future. In addition to ordinary lectures, I can also try experiments such as pharmacy and dispensing in the laboratory through practical classes. This helped me to understand the technical contents in the lecture notes. Furthermore, lecturers always tried their best to teach us no matter during or after classes. They helped me to solve my questions on further studies too. Although there were not many face-to-face classes in the past two years due to the pandemic, I can still feel the efforts that lecturers put into teaching through online lessons.
