'We are what we eat!'This statement really impresses me a lot when I first looked at the information about this program. And now, I found that the time spent in the College is really unforgettable and I have gained a fruitful experience. The College provides me with a comfortable environment to learn and meet friends. Students of Nutrition and Food Management do not only learn in the classroom, we have much more fun in the food laboratory! We can decide our own recipes and learn different practical skills and knowledge at the same time. Moreover, Seoul study tour broadens my horizon last year. I am glad to have been one of the students in tour studying!

Studying Nutrition and Food Management in the College was incredibly fruitful and enjoyable. It made me become all-rounded and sent me to the path to university. Not only did the program place the emphasis on theoretical knowledge, but it also stressed much more on practical aspect. Apart from academic field, the College provided students with a myriad of opportunities to broaden their horizon via other learning experience such as the trip in South Korea, which was my great experience to study the culture of another country. Also, the counsellors in Students Development Resource Centre (SDRC) were supportive to render assistance and provide professional career guidance to us.

The good learning atmosphere, the interactive teaching style, the teachers’ encouragement, the wonderful facilities and practice opportunities provided by the College made me become more mature. I was a student highly dependent on teachers in the past. However, studying at the College trained me to be more analytical and independent. Moreover, the Student Development Resources Centre in the College constantly held some talks about the university admission, such as application and interview skills, which helped me a lot in the University interviews. Finally, I get the offer from CUHK in third round interview. To conclude, the college life is hard but meaningful!

I have experienced an interesting college life and learnt deeper knowledge in nutrition at the College. The study mode here is similar to the one at universities, for example, an online platform is set for exchanging information between the College and students. The Student Development Resources Centre (SDRC) at the College also helps us to understand our career paths by providing career talks, graduate’s sharing and one-on-one consultation. The courses in programme equip my expertise in fundamental sciences and knowledge in food and nutrition.

Having failure in the past public examination does not ruin my study journey, but all these drive me to become even stronger. There is no doubt that it is a right choice to have further study in the College since I really gain more than expected in these two years. Apart from equipping me with a broad sense of food science knowledge in different areas including food chemistry, nutritional science or even food marketing, this program also offers students various site visit opportunities. The two years spent in the College will definitely be part of the most profound memory in my lifetime. What the course provided is more than I expected before my enrollment. Here I was well-nourished with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills on dealing with nutrition information including designing recipes to cater for different needs, dietary assessment, laboratory experiments etc. Apart from my academic perspective, the interpersonal part I experienced at the College was memorable, where I had received very kind help from lecturers and staff from Student Development Resources Centre when I needed. The friendship built here was so strong enough that I could have faith to face the obstacles I had been encountering on the road of getting into the University of Hong Kong.

I had never thought of enrolling to one of the best local university, CUHK, after having unsatisfactory performance in public examinations. I am very thankful for the College lecturers who are passionate to teach and willing to give me assistance whenever I need help. In these two years, I achieved more in-depth biochemistry knowledge which prepares me to study at university. Other than that, the on-site visit to Cathay Pacific Catering Services as well as the Seoul Study Tour broadened my horizons and brought me inspirations. The College not only gives me knowledge, but also enlightenment that strengthens me to be a more intelligent, insightful and mature individual.
