2016 Overseas Learning Experience in Chung Shan Medical University Hospital (Taiwan)

20 Year 1 students of Higher Diploma in Medical and Health Product Management programme joined a 14-day learning tour to Taiwan Chung Shan Medical University in August. Students not only learned about the daily route of outpatient and inpatient dispensing sections, Chinese Medicine Division and Methadone clinics, but also participated in preparation of herbal formula, deepening practice and aseptic technique. Moreover, students experienced task-based training under the supervisions of those clinical laboratory technologists of the medical laboratories, including Blood Bank, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Hematology, Biochemistry and drug testing sections. Students gained valuable experience in clinical laboratory testing skills and dispensing procedures, which inspired them during the selection processes of further studies and careers.
