In mid-March 2017, the Higher Diploma in Medical and Health Products Management programme has organised visits for 2 classes of Year 2 students on separate days to the Pharmacy Department of Tsuen Wan Adventist Hospital.
Ms.Suzanne Lee, the Senior Pharmacist and Mr. Steven Chin, the Chief Dispenser, gave a warm welcome to the students and a brief introduction of the hospital and the pharmacy department. Then, students were divided into 2 groups to observe the operation of the outpatient pharmaceutical services and visit the inpatient pharmaceutical services.
Students got a chance to learn how drugs were stored and prepacked and how prescriptions were processed using advanced technology employed by the department. They also learned about the importance of medication safety and good teamwork within a hospital. This was undoubtedly a valuable learning experience for the students and that could inspire them to pursue a healthcare professional career.
