Students of the Higher Diploma in Medical and Health Product Management Programme were on a 14-day attachment programme to Tajen University in Taiwan from 16 to 29 July 2017.
They visited the Department of Pharmacy in Kaohsiung Veterans General Hospital and Kaohsiung Veterans General Hospital (Ping Tung Branch). The Department Heads welcome the students and explained to them about the current health care system in Taiwan and application of internet of thing (IOT) technology in medicine electronic management in their hospitals. Students also visited Joben Biomedical and Timing Pharmaceutical Companies. The operation managers introduced to the students of the Chinese herbal extraction techniques, quality assurance and control. Students were given lectures and laboratory practices on pharmacy skills and chemical analysis in Tajen Unversity.
This attachment programme provided learning experiences on pharmaceutical and analytical sciences. Visits to hospital and pharmaceutical industries allowed students to understand more on medical services, quality assurance and control, which inspired them on their further studies and careers.
