On 10 November, 2018, Yr. 1 students of the Higher Diploma programme in Medical and Health Products Management had an opportunity to visit the Housing Society Elderly Resources Centre in Yaumatei. It was an interesting learning experience for students as the Centre’s staff explained to the group in details of all of the home facilities, from the kitchen to the bedroom, designed to assist the elderly to live safely and comfortably. There were also a number of advanced sensory and mobility test equipment that could assess the health status of the elderly. The visit was undoubtedly very useful to students who want to pursue further studies in nursing, occupational therapy, gerontology or community health practice.
