A group of young adventurers from the HPSHCC Higher Diploma in Sport and Recreation Management and Sport Coaching and Sport Performance programmes embarked on a transformative expedition to the Himalayas Mountain range in Kyrgyzstan this summer. This youth expedition project aimed to foster our students' intrapersonal and interpersonal development through the Outdoor Experiential Learning approach, where they took the initiative to design, plan, and organise the expedition.
Guided by experienced mountaineers and local experts, the students embarked on challenging treks, high-altitude climbs, and explored glacial valleys. They honed their planning and organising skills in Outdoor Adventure programming, discovered more about themselves, and experienced a unique culture firsthand. This youth expedition empowered the participants, instilling in them a deep connection to nature, insights into personal development, a sense of responsibility for themselves, and a commitment to creating a brighter path for themselves.
