The United Christian Nethersole Community Health Service (UCN) has launched a health promotion project, namely ‘Health Start of Youth’, under the ‘Health Living Education Program’. Students of the Higher Diploma in Food Health and Business Management were invited to participate in the project. They have undergone a series of intensive training sessions conducted by mental health professional, registered dietitians and fitness coach on promoting the importance of health.
This project focused on a holistic approach for the development of a well-being. While the mass talks helped our students to develop a positive healthy living style, the peer groups workshops empowered them in advocating healthy living messages and concepts in the community.
Through participation of this project the students learnt different health promotion techniques and had an enjoyable experience.
