Every summer, a number of MHPM Year 1 students participate in a 4-week internship training at ACP Medication Management Centre. ACP is a private organisation from which the Hospital Authority contracts its drug dispensing service for elderlies living in old-aged homes that are served by the Hospital Authority. Our students involve in prescription processing, patients profile management, and drug packing and dispensing activities. Through the internship, they appreciate the broad range of medications taken by the elderly and the importance of medication safety in drug therapy. What’s more is that they learn the role of a pharmacist, team spirit and drug knowledge which is very helpful to their Year 2 studies and future career in this field.
