Year 1 students of Higher Diploma in Medical and Health Product Management paid a visit to The Hong Kong Jockey Club Racing Laboratory at Sha Tin Racecourse on 12 January 2016. The Hong Kong Jockey Club has a world-class drug-testing laboratory that has been appointed by the Federation Equestre international (FEI) as its sole Reference Laboratory in Asia since 2001. Racing Chemists introduced to the students the procedures of sample handling and drug testing as well as quality assurance (QA). They also showed the students the latest analytical instruments including Liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (LC-MS), Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), Inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS), Gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC-MS), etc.
