This programme provided a valuable opportunity for me to understand the Hong Kong legal system and different areas of law. Its practical nature has equipped me with concrete legal knowledge to handle different cases during my internship in a local law firm. I have now benefited from a strong set of proficiencies in the legal field. Last but not least, I believe this programme also helped me to develop a logical mind-set and the communication skills I mastered are really helpful to my future studies.

After getting poor results in the public exam, I wanted to keep pursing my dream in the College. I had a wonderful time with my schoolmates and lecturers, who motivated my learning. Moreover, there were different courses for me to study, which broadened my knowledge in the field of social sciences. Also, the College provides a wide variety of activities to students, such as the Leadership Training Camp, and Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement Training Camp. When I first came to this school two years ago, I had no knowledge about the background of the chosen courses and was not sure whether it would suit me or not. All I wanted was to get out of here as soon as possible. Surprisingly, two years later, I realize that I actually enjoy the school life in the College. Interesting courses, dedicated teachers, helpful friends who have been through exams and presentations with me have made my study life in the College so fruitful and unforgettable.

It has always been my dream to work in the hospitality industry and thankfully the College provides lot of opportunities for me to learn, enhance and prove myself. Besides, this programme offers an internship for every student and it’s my privilege to work at the front office department in InterContinental Hong Kong. This once-in-a-life-time opportunity not only broadened my horizons, but also enhanced both knowledge and skills for my future career. I believe wrong choices might bring us to the right places. This is why sometimes we have to loose ourselves in order to find ourselves. It is never too late to persue our dreams.

Life at the College is full of laughs and tears. When I first entered the College, I was frustrated and nervous because I did not know anyone. Besides, I was disappointed that I could not get into a University. For this reason, I promised myself and parents that I needed to work hard for University admission. I did not regret studying at the College because I am glad that I have met a group of good friends. Also, it was a great opportunity for me to join different activities such as Taiwan Study Tour and Leadership Training Camp. I have understood myself better and become more mature now.

The two-year life in the College was very fruitful. I could understand the concepts quickly and easily. Moreover, the lecturers in the College were so professional that they were willing to stay after lectures in order to explain and clarify each concept with patience. Apart from learning practical knowledge like accounting, taxation and auditing during lectures, I also participated in different case competitions. Those unique experience in the competitions not only allowed me to apply what I have learned practically, but also fine-tuned my communication and time management skills.

Entering the College has given me a golden opportunity to get into university. I have chosen Business (management) as my major. The programme strikes a great balance between practical experience and academic pursuit. It does not only allow me to figure out more in the business management field, but also enlarges my social circle. I have met a lot of wonderful friends who are amiable and helpful. Apart from these, counsellors also play a crucial role in helping me to gain a university place. They provided me with tailor-made advice ranged from university’s application procedure to interview training. Overall, I really enjoyed my time at the College.

“I would like to express my most sincere gratitude to all the lecturers at HPSHCC who have devoted themselves wholeheartedly in teaching. The carefully structured YSS programme helps students to fully utilize the two years of study. The programme also provides a comprehensive training for students who plan to enter the workforce after graduation. For instance, the practicum supervised by experienced social workers has offered opportunities for students to learn in real world situations.
I am so fortunate to have the chance to join the study tour to South Korea. The trip offered us valuable opportunity to visit different social facilities including an orphanage and a school for the mentally handicapped. I also wanted to give my heartfelt appreciation to the Programme Manager who had given me amble support to prepare for a postgraduate programme interview. I am accepted by the Master’s programme of Social Work (MSW) and will study at HKU after receiving my Bachelor’s degree this year. Studying at HPSHCC is really a fruitful and enjoyable experience to me.”
