The College provides students with a good learning environment and the programme structure allows non-accounting students to learn from basic accounting and build up our knowledge step by step. The programme team is very helpful and lecturers are so patient to answer our questions during classes and even outside class time. Lecturers always monitor our learning progress and help us to resolve difficulties by giving useful advices. I joined the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Business Case Competition in which we were asked to analysis the financial reports of Pak Fah Yeow. Through the competition, my analytical skills were enhanced. Lastly, I make many good friends who are energetic and positive.

Being an accountant is my career goal for ages. However, I did not have a chance to study accounting before being admitted to the College. “The Higher Diploma in Business (Accounting) programme has sharpened my competitive edge, as it enhanced my skills and capabilities a lot. Despite I only had some basic knowledge about Accounting before entering this programme, here at the College I have learned lots of practical applications in areas like Auditing and Taxation, all of which were essential for me in pursuing a career in the Accounting field or for further studies.
Apart from the knowledge we learnt from the text books, the programme required us to work in groups when handling different assignments. Very often I had to communicate with a group of teammates which greatly enhanced my interpersonal, analytical and communication skills. Furthermore, the whole learning experience certainly helped deepen my understanding on those accounting concepts which were all beneficial to my university study.”

2010 Year 2, BBA (Hons) Accounting, Hong Kong Baptist University
After completing the Higher Diploma in Business (Accounting) programme at the College, I was fortunate to further my study to the Year 2 of BBA (Hons) Accounting programme offered by the Hong Kong Baptist University.
I found that the 2-year experience in the College was valuable and beneficial to me in many aspects. Firstly, the programme content was more or less the same as those in the University Year 1 level. Secondly, the teaching mode at the College was a portrait of the university life, which I would say the 2-year Higher Diploma programme provided a smooth transit for students from secondary schools to the universities. Thirdly, all lecturers were competent in terms of the subject knowledge and presentation skills. Last but not least, sufficient course works and projects were assigned to students so that we could have a good grasp of time management and the wealth of opportunities to co-operate with others.
During the past 2 years, I managed to build my confidence in studying, and was very glad to realise the most suitable learning method for me as well. Studying at the College was really a smart choice!
