"Big journeys begin with small steps." During the past two years, I have found a lot of inspiration that has reinforced my passion and motivated me to pursue further studies at HPSHCC. The College provided experienced lecturers and a variety of resources, which have helped me work towards my goals and continue to pursue my dream at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Besides immersing myself in the new learning atmosphere, stepping out of my comfort zone is crucial. I have participated in the Student Ambassador scheme, which has greatly improved my leadership and communication skills, giving me great confidence. More exposure to various activities and experiences provided me with better insight and personal development. Additionally, I have expanded my social circle and made many supportive friends with similar interests.

Without impressive academic results or exceptional talents, I entered the College full of uncertainties and anxiety. I was thankful to the College for offering quality teaching resources, support and opportunities. Through my journey, I not only acquired knowledge and skills, but also discovered different aspects of myself, made friends who are inspiring and supportive, built confidence, solidified my goals, and broadened my horizons. Undoubtedly, the two-year study in the College have been an unforgettable and precious journey of growth in my life. It has laid a solid foundation for my future path. Although I took some detours, I have witnessed more beautiful scenery along the way!
To my fellow DSE graduates and Year 1 classmates, you are in a challenging phase of life, and the stress should not be underestimated. However, please don’t forget to take good care of your mind and body to go further in the long run. "When an egg breaks from outside, it is under pressure; when it breaks from inside, it is growth." Life is a journey full of possibilities, and I firmly believe that if you are willing to work hard and persevere, one day you will achieve your goals and fulfil your dreams. At the beginning of my journey in the College, I felt heavy-hearted as I had to face my unsatisfactory results in the public examination. I also had to confront the uncertainties in the path ahead.
However, my worries were proved unnecessary because the College provided abundant and comprehensive resources and support, which allowed me to find my goals and pathways during my two years of study. At the College, we are free and secure to explore and unleash our potential.

The two years I spent at HPSHCC provided me with everything I needed to further my studies. In addition to imparting professional knowledge, the Higher Diploma in Tourism and Events Management also taught me practical skills that have come in handy during my internship.

In the past two years, the College has organised many non-curricular activities, allowing us to relieve stress. During exam periods, the College also supports students in many ways. At the same time, the College and lecturers provide various opportunities for students, such as internships and overseas exchange programmes. I have participated in both and have benefited a lot from them. I am a curious person who always asks questions, and lecturers always answer my questions patiently. With their help, I have achieved good academic results. Before I started my studies here, I was worried about how to get along with my classmates. Later, I found that classmates are willing to encourage each other and study together, enabling us to start our Bachelor studies together! I would like to thank the lecturers and the Student Development Resource Centre. I have really enjoyed my studies throughout these two years!
