Despite the unsatisfactory results of my HKDSE Exam, I decided to study the HD in Medical and Health Products Management programme at HPSHCC. It was a decision that I would not regret. The programme curriculum is well designed and our lecturers are knowledgeable and caring. All of these have helped me to advance to the university study. I have also developed good friendship with my fellow students; my college life is colourful and wonderful.

I am glad to receive the Bachelor of Nursing offer from CUHK. This is not only the effort of oneself but also our lecturers. From submitting application to interview, lecturers held a lot of activities and talks for students to learn and practice hence we have confidence to face all the challenges. The programme does help prepare me to get into the university. Learning drug action and pathophysiology make me know that being a nurse should possess professional knowledge and communication skill as well. In the past 2 years, we really worked hard to prepare the tests and examinations. Every score on the transcript motivates me to be better next time. Attitude is very important in learning. Thank you my teachers and classmates.

Sometimes I wonder what I would be if I did not enroll in this Higher Diploma programme two years ago. The practical curriculum and enthusiastic lecturers have prepared me well for studying Nursing at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Last summer, I had an opportunity to work as a student intern at Caritas Medical Centre and Taichung Chung Shan Medical University Hospital which allowed me to have a better understanding of the duties of hospital nurses. The sharing of mentors also encouraged me to strive and become a professional nurse.

I still remember how depressed I was after receiving the HKDSE result slip. I was so disappointed and worried about the uncertain future. I was reading the Students Sharing page, like you do now and would never imagine myself sharing with you of my story a year later. Having a warm and enjoyable learning environment with wonderful teachers makes HPSHCC a very special place. This year I am glad to be one of the Student Ambassadors, which provides me valuable opportunities in participating different school activities. I want to thank all of my teachers and counselors. Their passion in education helps me to go through a lot. Maybe you are now reading this with a complicated and undetermined mind about your future; however, you should feel fortunate for you have found your goal. As long as you are willing to work hard at HPSHCC, you will be able to pursue your dreams. Don’t give up!

I was an average student in my high school performance, and I have never dreamed that I would enter The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Studying at HPSHCC is a valuable academic experience for me to enrich my knowledge and to build a solid foundation for the university study. The teachers are very helpful and supportive. They are always willing to listen and guide us to solve the problems. I hope, one day, you can fulfil your dreams and reach your targets.

This programme not only provides fundamental medical knowledge, but also offers us internship opportunities in institutions such as Chung Shan Hospital and a hospital under Hong Kong Hospital Authority. I have had an enjoyable learning experience in the past two years as the teachers were helpful when I had difficulties in learning. Though my path to enter the university was not a straight one, I always keep in mind that "Never stop Trying, Never stop Believing, and, Never Give Up.

At the beginning of college, I just thought it was a place for the students who failed in the DSE to get one more chance to get into university. However, there is not only studying but also learning knowledge related to life long and finding the partners who are both classmates and teachers to flight with you in this harsh war. As a result, I got an offer from university and appreciate the teachers who taught me during these two years, and my friends who supported me.

“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” That’s why, studying this MHPM programme helped me discover many hidden opportunities in the world of science and medicine. Even though we are still tangled up in the pandemic, HPSHCC was able to provide us with a platform to enroll ourselves into virtual exchange programmes to perform voluntary works and apply the pharmacy dispensing skills. I am really grateful to all the lecturers who guided me to pave my path towards a promising future; and thus, I am proud enough to say that this two-year journey has been very insightful.

Even though my DSE results were not as good as expected, I realised that as long as I persevered and worked hard, I can still enter the university after two years of study at HPSHCC. Therefore, we should not give up our ambition and goals. I would like to thank all the lecturers I have met in the past two years, who have imparted the best knowledge to me.
