College Life

Studying Sports and Recreation Management at HPSHCC has been an invaluable journey. The College has provided me with not only professional academic knowledge but also numerous practical opportunities. I am deeply grateful to all the lecturers for their guidance and encouragement, which have helped me grow and confidently pursue my future goals.

I once believed that pursuing an Associate Degree would be a lifelong stigma, so I came to HPSHCC feeling uncertain and ashamed. Fortunately, my journey here helped me rebuild my confidence.

The nurturing environment, together with opportunities such as study tours, internships, and participation in student organisations, enriched my experience, enhanced my soft skills, and broadened my exposure to the community. The lecturers are dedicated and supportive, while Student Development Resource Centre counsellors provided additional emotional and informational support. My talented fellow students also motivated me to work harder and strive for excellence. Along the way, I formed friendships with people who shared similar goals, and we supported one another throughout the journey. This experience gave me greater confidence in my ability to achieve strong academic results and pursue overall excellence.

The two meaningful years at HPSHCC equipped me with the knowledge and skills needed to receive desirable offers and pursue higher academic goals. I am truly grateful for all the experiences I have gained here.

The Higher Diploma in Medical and Health Products Management has been a truly transformative learning journey for me. One of my greatest takeaways has been understanding how different medical devices and medications can directly support patients’ recovery. Through this experience, I have come to realise that healthcare is not only about medicine, but also about how research and technology work together to improve people’s quality of life.

I am deeply grateful to my lecturers for their guidance and career advice throughout my studies. They encouraged me to look beyond the surface and explore the “why” behind the science, which sparked my genuine interest in the healthcare field. This experience has broadened my perspective on healthcare systems and given me the confidence to take on future challenges in the industry.

The programme equips us with a wide range of IT knowledge through various topics, such as Artificial Intelligence and Programming. The lecturers are approachable and always willing to offer support, providing diverse training and project-based learning opportunities that help us deepen our understanding and apply what we learn in practice.

In addition, the programme offers a technology placement opportunity, which allows us to gain practical experience in a real working environment. This not only helps us better understand industry practices but also enables us to stay abreast of the latest developments in the field.

I am honored and excited to receive an offer at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Studying at HPSHCC has provided me with a strong academic foundation and valuable learning experiences that have prepared me for this next step.

Throughout my time at the College, I developed a deeper understanding of hospitality, customer service, and teamwork, while also enhancing my communication and problem-solving skills. I am truly grateful to my lecturers and classmates for their support and encouragement along the way.

Joining the Hong Kong Polytechnic University is an important milestone in my academic journey, and I look forward to expanding my knowledge and pursuing my passion in the hospitality and tourism industry.

HPSHCC has helped me a lot in developing my academic skills.

After completing the HKDSE, I knew my results were not strong enough for direct entry to university, but I remained determined to pursue a career in healthcare. That is why I chose the Higher Diploma in Medical and Health Products Management at HPSHCC. During my three years of study, I learnt subjects such as anatomy, physiology, pharmaceutics, and pathophysiology, all of which laid a solid foundation for my future studies.

Admittedly, the programme involved many tests and examinations. However, the lecturers were highly effective in explaining complex medical concepts in a simple and accessible way, which made the learning process much less daunting than I had expected.

In addition, summer internships and hospital visits gave me valuable exposure to different healthcare fields. Group projects also allowed me to build friendships and strengthen my teamwork skills, preparing me well for both university life and the workplace.

Thanks to this programme, I received a bachelor's degree offer from a university. I truly believe that the programme was a turning point in my academic journey. As I prepare to graduate, I am filled with wonderful memories and feel deeply grateful for all that I have gained at HPSHCC. I sincerely hope that every student will receive the offers they aspire to and leave HPSHCC with valuable knowledge, meaningful experiences, and a clear path ahead.

I was once a university student who felt frustrated and uncertain about my chosen major, which led me to pause and reconsider my path. During that period of confusion, I discovered the Associate of Social Sciences in Youth and Social Services at HPSHCC. This programme broadened my perspective and helped me rethink my future career direction. Although I developed a strong interest in social work, I also realised the importance of building a solid foundation in social sciences first.

I am grateful to have met like-minded peers who share similar aspirations, which made this journey even more meaningful. The two years of associate degree study were not easy, yet every step contributed to my personal growth. With the dedicated guidance of lecturers and the strong support of the Student Development Resource Centre (SDRC), I was able to build a solid academic and personal foundation. These experiences have enabled me to progress to The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and move one step closer to my future goals.

“Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal.” Studying Social Work at CUHK has always been a dream that I have worked hard to pursue. Looking back on who I was two years ago, I once thought this goal was beyond my reach, which led me to take a different path in the hope of giving myself a second chance. When I first joined HPSHCC, I was determined to give it my very best. As the saying goes, “You reap what you sow,” and my academic results helped me regain confidence in my ability to learn and grow.

As I gradually adapted to the rhythm of College life, I actively took part in different College societies and internships to broaden my horizons and turn each experience into nourishment for personal growth. Although the journey was full of challenges, it was through perseverance and reflection that I was able to move closer to my goal step by step and eventually gain admission to my desired bachelor degree programme. This experience has made me firmly believe that with a clear direction and consistent effort, dreams can truly come true.

Lastly, I am deeply grateful to my friends, lecturers, and staff at HPSHCC, who walked alongside me throughout this journey and helped me find hope during moments of uncertainty. I also sincerely wish every student the courage to keep striving and to move confidently towards their own future.

As a mature student whose previous experience was entirely in the property management industry, this Higher Diploma programme has broadened my understanding of the surveying profession and given me a clearer picture of what it means to be a surveying professional. In this field, it is crucial to possess both technical expertise in real estate and a sound understanding of legal principles.

The lecturers are all seasoned professionals or practitioners with extensive experience in their respective fields. They have enriched our learning by sharing valuable practical knowledge and real-world industry insights.
