Throughout my two years at HPSHCC, I gradually transformed from someone who was uncertain about my future into someone who had found a clear direction. Not only did the College provide abundant academic resources, but it also offered valuable opportunities for overseas study tours. What impressed me most was the chance to attend classes at a local university during the study tour, visiting neuroimaging and sleep laboratories, and exchanging ideas with local professors. This valuable experience not only deepened my understanding of the applications of psychology but also broadened my horizons and enhanced my way of thinking.
In addition, one of the most precious aspects of my two years at the College was meeting a group of classmates and friends who shared similar aspirations. They made me deeply realise that I was not alone on this journey of pursuing my dreams.
Lastly, I am very grateful for this learning experience at the College, which allowed me to gradually regain my confidence and truly believe in my ability to continue moving forward in the field of psychology, taking another step towards my dream.

After receiving disappointing HKDSE results, I felt lost and uncertain, just like many other students. At the same time, I knew I had to explore alternative pathways for my future. As I had always been passionate about social work, I decided to apply for the Associate of Applied Social Sciences in Youth and Social Services at HPSHCC as soon as I learned that the College offered a related programme. With a mixture of hope and apprehension, I embarked on this journey in search of another opportunity to enter university.
At the beginning of my studies, I found it challenging to adapt, as the teaching and learning approaches at the tertiary level were very different from those in secondary school. Fortunately, with the support of counsellors from the Student Development Resource Centre and the guidance of senior students, I gradually adjusted to campus life. I also stepped outside my comfort zone by joining various student organisations and supporting newly admitted students, passing on the same spirit of care and support that I had received.
The programme itself was highly enriching and provided me with a solid understanding of social work, preparing me well for further studies at university. It also included experiential learning activities, such as high- and low-ropes adventure training. Inspired by this experience, I went on to obtain the relevant coaching certification. This demonstrates how the programme not only broadens students’ academic knowledge but also supports their career planning and personal development.

During my two years of study in the Higher Diploma in Medical and Health Products Management, I gained a solid foundation in medical-related subjects, including physiology, anatomy, and pharmacology. Beyond classroom learning, the College provided a simulated pharmacy environment where we could experience the daily work of dispensers firsthand. This valuable hands-on training complemented my theoretical knowledge and enhanced my understanding of the profession.
I am also deeply grateful to the dedicated lecturers who supported me throughout my studies. They patiently taught the course content and were always willing to dedicate time to discussing further study opportunities and career pathways with students. Whenever I felt uncertain about my future, they provided the guidance, encouragement, and practical advice that helped me find my direction. With their support, I successfully gained admission to my preferred bachelor's degree programme at university.

For me, studying the Higher Diploma in Surveying and Property Management was a great challenge and required strong determination. As a mature student, I chose to return to campus after working for a while, so I had to balance factors such as family, academic performance and financial burden. Fortunately, with the support of my family, I have been able to persevere until now.
The programme content deepened my understanding of the surveying industry. What impressed me most was the application of land law, which helped me understand the uses of different types of land, as well as the key considerations when buying and selling properties. It was truly eye-opening. I am also very grateful for the guidance and support from all the lecturers. They often used a wide range of academic references to explain the course content, which benefited me immensely.
In addition, I would like to thank the counsellors at the College’s Student Development Resources Centre (SDRC). Through their counselling services and wellness activities, they showed genuine care for us and greatly relieved the academic pressure I had accumulated over time.
Lastly, I would like to encourage my fellow schoolmates: learning is a lifelong journey. Even if you did not achieve your desired results in the HKDSE, or if you are returning to campus after working like me, your efforts will eventually pay off as long as you are willing to work hard. Mindset determines everything.
