I really enjoy the great time at the College. Not only have I built up a great friendship with my lecturers, but also I have met lots of good friends who always support me and be my comrade-in-arms. Studying in Nutrition and Food Management is fruitful and dynamic and the college has furnished us with a great deal of precious opportunities of doing laboratory experiments and cooking lessons. In these two years, I realise that even though knowledge is important, it is also vital that we need to have good interpersonal and time management skills. As a science student, we also need to learn how to handle with things in a more logical and sensible manner for better study and future career.

It is worthwhile to study the program of Higher Diploma in Nutrition and Food Management which provides me the knowledge of nutrition, the processing of food and biochemistry. Most of the courses are related to human life. Since life science is one of my interested fields, this program is definitely suitable for me. I chose this program as it is related to nursing in some aspects, such as the course of Human physiology and Anatomy. That means studying in it would be a stepping-stone and prerequisite for me to get in Bachelor of Nursing in The University of Hong Kong. I am so glad that I finally achieve my goal. It is possible to get a ticket of university if you put effort and hard work.

Studying Nutrition and Food Management in the College was incredibly fruitful and enjoyable. It made me become all-rounded and sent me to the path to university. Not only did the program place the emphasis on theoretical knowledge, but it also stressed much more on practical aspect. The good learning atmosphere, the interactive teaching style, the teachers’ encouragement, the wonderful facilities and practice opportunities provided by the College made me become more mature. I was a student highly dependent on teachers in the past. However, studying at the College trained me to be more analytical and independent. Moreover, the Student Development Resources Centre in the College constantly held some talks about the university admission, such as application and interview skills, which helped me a lot in the University interviews. Finally, I get the offer from CUHK in third round interview. To conclude, the college life is hard but meaningful!

I have experienced an interesting college life and learnt deeper knowledge in nutrition at the College. The study mode here is similar to the one at universities, for example, an online platform is set for exchanging information between the College and students. The Student Development Resources Centre (SDRC) at the College also helps us to understand our career paths by providing career talks, graduate’s sharing and one-on-one consultation. The courses in programme equip my expertise in fundamental sciences and knowledge in food and nutrition.
