College Life

The College offered me a chance to change my life. It was not only a place for gaining knowledge, but also a place offering me an opportunity to work in the W Hong Kong hotel. The College was a stepping stone to affiliate to the PolyU, and now I did it! I feel grateful to have learnt here.

Studying in the College is the best decision I've ever made in my life. Throughout these 2 years, it has fulfilled my hunger of knowledge, realized my dream of perfection, and above all, empowered me to imagine a brave new world. With my social network expanded to most of my lecturers who have taught me a plethora of life-changing courses, I'm now confident to accept any challenges in my future career in journalism.

The community college is much more desirable than many have imagined: students are self-motivated, lecturers are experienced, and counselors are helpful. I am graceful that the school offers me an exceptionally precious second chance to flourish. No matter how lost and how confused you are when you enter the college, these two years will definitely guide you to rethink your future.

It is my honor and pleasure to study at the College. After studying two years at the College, I further affirmed my future career. This programme provides students with various courses related to social sciences such as psychology and sociology for foundation. In the second year, the programme provides related practical trainings and theories including editing skills and communication theories which help students to prepare well for further study or entering into the related fields. It definitely equips students with useful and fruitful skills no matter they want to further study or devote to the society.

I made a right choice of studying at the College two years ago. I do not only acquire knowledge about Psychology, but also gain some useful skills through taking part in the events, workshops and seminars held and promoted by the Student Development Resource Center (SDRC). What is more, being a Student Ambassador enriched my college life. The counsellors are nice and supportive. They always provide informative news and guidance on my further studies. The lecturers are professional and responsive. I had a great time and a lot of good memories in these two fruitful years.

I knew that it was not suitable for me to study science subjects because of the failure in public examination. However, I did not realise which subject was the right one for me. Luckily, I can study both Business and Social Sciences that I find my interest and strength. I can have more choices when applying for university too.

Learning in HKU SPACE Po Leung Kuk Stanley Ho Community College, what I gain is some unforgettable, fruitful and unique experience which I cannot get from other schools. I am glad that the College gives me a lot of valuable chances to explore myself more. For example, being a Student Ambassador, joining Mentor and Mentee Scheme and Study Tour, as well as training camps all cultivate me into a more mature girl. Through these 2 years in the College, not only do I earn some professional skills and knowledge in medical field, but also some precious and memorable moments with good lecturers and helpful friends. I am grateful for their support and encouragement to back me up in the days in the College.

With the help of lecturers and counsellors at the College, I adapt to the new College life quickly and I make a lot of good friends too. Equipped with the knowledge and good memories, I am now confident to move on to the next stage of my life.

The two years spent in the College will definitely be part of the most profound memory in my lifetime. What the course provided is more than I expected before my enrollment. Here I was well-nourished with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills on dealing with nutrition information including designing recipes to cater for different needs, dietary assessment, laboratory experiments etc. Apart from my academic perspective, the interpersonal part I experienced at the College was memorable, where I had received very kind help from lecturers and staff from Student Development Resources Centre when I needed. The friendship built here was so strong enough that I could have faith to face the obstacles I had been encountering on the road of getting into the University of Hong Kong.

In the past two-year in the College, I had a great time learning with my schoolmates and met a lot of new friends. I learnt a lot of information of medical and health care from the teachers which cannot be found from books. Through their support and encouragement, I understand the different disciplines of knowledge, and know how to equip myself joining the medical field. In terms of activities, the school offers a variety of activities to help broaden my vision and interpersonal networks, such as volunteer services and the exchange tour. For me, the college is like my mentor, who orients me to the right direction.
