“Apart from studying the academic theories, the TEM proogramme also provided me with ample opportunities to gain real-life practice from various placements, such as Cathay Pacific International Chinese New Year Night Parade, and Cathay Pacific/Credit Suisse Hong Kong Sevens. These events not only helped broaden my horizon, but also allowed me to further develop my communication skills and my ability to handle odds and emergency. My interest towards the tourism and events industry grew when I undertook the summer internship at Hong Kong Youth Hostels Association.
I particularly appreciated all the lecturers who are well-equipped with professional knowledge and most importantly, they like to share their real-life experiences with us.”

“After completing the 2-year Higher Diploma in Sport and Recreation Management programme, I am glad to say I really gained a lot. To name a few, I have been actively leading various departmental activities, organising outdoor adventure programmes at school or outside campus. Besides, I also had the opportunity to acquire practical work experience via summer placement, which allowed me to apply my acquired theories and knowledge to a relevant context.
After completing this programme, I am confident of my future studies, and I felt fortunate that I could articulate to a bachelor’s degree programme related to sport and recreation at one of the local Hong Kong universities.”

Time flies when you enjoy yourself
Time actually flies. It leaves us with nothing but professional knowledge, unforgettable memories and friendship over the years. I promise the indelible memories, which we wove in our college, can never be taken away.

鄭嘉琪 Katy Cheng
The Higher Diploma in Tourism and Events Management programme offered by the College provided me with professional training, specialised knowledge and practical job placements that enabled me to attain proficiency in the field of my interest.
Throughout the past 2 years, I was given ample opportunities to gain hands-on experiences and broaden my horizon in different events in Hong Kong, such as Cathay Pacific International Chinese New Year Night Parade, Hong Kong East Asian Games, Brands and Products Expo etc. My inter-personal and communication skills were enhanced. All these valuable experiences allowed me to be familiarised with various event organisations. Moreover, the internship experience gained in EGL Tours Company has further strengthened my knowledge and deepened my interest towards the tourism industry.
Lecturers are well equipped with professional knowledge and they would never hesitate to offer you guidance. I was always impressed by their sharing of real-life experiences from the tourism and hospitality field, thereby attending their lectures was always worthwhile. Besides, as English is the medium of instruction in the College, students can improve their language abilities, both written and spoken, through different activities that regularly held in the English Corner and the interactive teaching method by the native English teachers.
Studying at the College was an enjoyable experience which had really enriched my learning experience.

After completing the Higher Diploma in Business (Accounting) programme at the College, I was fortunate to further my study to the Year 2 of BBA (Hons) Accounting programme offered by the Hong Kong Baptist University.
I found that the 2-year experience in the College was valuable and beneficial to me in many aspects. Firstly, the programme content was more or less the same as those in the University Year 1 level. Secondly, the teaching mode at the College was a portrait of the university life, which I would say the 2-year Higher Diploma programme provided a smooth transit for students from secondary schools to the universities. Thirdly, all lecturers were competent in terms of the subject knowledge and presentation skills. Last but not least, sufficient course works and projects were assigned to students so that we could have a good grasp of time management and the wealth of opportunities to co-operate with others.
During the past 2 years, I managed to build my confidence in studying, and was very glad to realise the most suitable learning method for me as well. Studying at the College was really a smart choice!

蔡艾娜 Anna Choi
My A-level results were not satisfactory enough to further my study in university. To be frank, I ended up choosing the College solely because I was interested in the programme offered here.
2 years may not be a long time in life but it was hard enough for me to decide whether I should continue my study in Associate Degree programme. At the beginning, I felt a bit frustrated as I had no friends in the campus, and the teaching and learning style was entirely different from that in the secondary school. Thanks to the College, I am studying well in HKU now.
What I have gained is not only knowledge but also friendship and lecturers' caring. Without their support, I may not be able to finish all the essays, presentations and exams. Special thanks to the lecturers as they share many real life experiences with us and we really learn a lot from them.
So, believe in yourself. No pain, No gain. Everything is going to be fine if you try hard!

Having finished my A-level in UK, I decided to continue my study in Hong Kong. However, I didn’t receive any offers from any local Universities last year. I didn’t give up and I had joined the College. After a year of study here, it was definitely not a regrettable decision joining here because I have learnt a lot throughout this year. The Higher Diploma in Nutrition and Food Management Programme in the College equipped me with indispensable knowledge in Biology, Nutrition and Food Chemistry. Besides, other courses such as Multimedia and Sociology provided me extra knowledge apart from sciences. Moreover, laboratory practices and some interesting field trips like visiting the Yakult Factory had further enriched my knowledge and interest in Food and Nutrition. I greatly enjoyed studying in the College this year and I sincerely appreciate all the professors and lecturers with their patient and kindness toward my study.

Human Resource Management" makes no difference to the "General Management". However, upon completing this programme at the College, I came to realise that “Human Resource Management
On the other hand, the programme content is highly related to the study in university, which greatly helps facilitate my adaptation to the university life. Besides, the lecturers at the College are well experienced in the industry who are able to explain the abstract concepts and theories explicitly and vividly with their own practical experience, thereby reinforcing our understanding of the topics as well as giving us a general picture about the real business world. All in all, I really enjoyed studying at the College during the past two years, and surely it was beneficial to my future career as well.

何燕婷 Yoyo Ho
The past 2-year experience in the College had broadened my exposure and I had found my goal as well. I used to be passive, dependent and too timid to express my opinions in front of people. The learning mode in the College, with numbers of presentations and group projects in each semester, encouraged us to learn proactively, albeit this learning approach did give me a hard time at the beginning.
Now, I have already got used to this learning method. My friends, schoolmates, the Programme Leader, Dr. Chan or even my family all said that I had changed a lot -- becoming more outgoing and mature. Last but not least, the time in the College helped me adapt to the university life quickly. I would say the knowledge learnt from textbooks and all soft skills like time management, communication skills is of great usefulness throughout my life.
