Having the chance to study food and nutrition management in HPSHCC during these 2 years was fruitful and challenging, as I am really interested in this area. I am grateful to have met good teachers here, who taught me useful knowledge of nutrition. Through joining study tours, site visits to local food manufacturers and voluntary services, I could learn more about the industrial practices other than knowledge from books, which gave me a clearer goal towards my future. In these 2 years, I experienced that determination and hard work are the foundation of success, you can also pursue your dreams.

Time flies and I am going to continue my studies at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University after a fruitful school life at HPSHCC. HPSHCC’s Higher Diploma programme in Hotel Management enables students to acquire knowledge beyond textbooks. Apart from lectures, the College provides us with opportunities in practical work and placement. The practical assessment and the placement in luxury hotels equipped me with real life operation experiences. I am well-prepared for future challenges in the hotel industry and felt very grateful to the lecturers and counsellors who had given me much support and useful advice on academic and career development.

Two years ago, I did not get good results in HKDSE exam, and could not enter into the university. I, therefore, decided to study the Higher Diploma programme in Nutrition and Food Management at HPSHCC. Besides, the Student Development Resource Centre (SDRC) provided sufficient information and support on further studies, especially when I had to prepare for the university interviews. Furthermore, study tours held by the College helped me to understand more about food production of different countries, which is beneficial to my future learning.

My dream has always been studying in the university and to engage in the healthcare industry. My DSE grades were not satisfactory, and I decided to enroll on this programme. The post-graduation pathways of the programme are diversified, teachers and classmates are amiable. Whenever I had difficulties in study, they were always able to help. The College has adequate campus facilities for students to learn and relax. The College also organised extracurricular activities for students. We can gain relevant experience before pursuing further studies or joining the work force. I am very grateful to HPSHCC for helping me to fulfil my dream.

My HKDSE result did not meet the minimum entrance requirements of local universities. Fortunately, thanks to HPSHCC for giving me an environment to learn and an opportunity to work in a hotel. Although my academic path was not too smooth, I knew there was more than one way. Therefore, don’t lose faith.

Studying at HPSHCC for the past two years has been a significant milestone in my life as I am strengthened holistically.
The programme has provided me a solid foundation in psychology and academic research. Besides, the learning atmosphere at HPSHCC is positive. If you are able to find friends who share similar goals as in achieving good results, you would be more motivated and discover that time passes real quick.
I was also exposed to different learning opportunities from extracurricular activities such as participating in the college volunteering team for ex-mentally impaired people. I have learned more about their needs mentally, which allowed me to investigate in those areas further.

During my two years of studies in the Higher Diploma programme in Medical and Health Products Management, I learnt different areas of basic medical knowledge such as pharmacology, human anatomy and physiology, etc. This knowledge helped me to have a better preparation for my further studies in the medical field. Apart from academic knowledge, the programme also offered different kinds of internship. Last year, I joined an internship at Queensland University of Technology in Australia. This internship experience helped me to understand the current healthcare system in Australia and further consolidate my medical knowledge.
