College Life

HPSHCC’s Higher Diploma programme in Hotel Management has given me opportunities to learn about hotel management. Apart from subject theories, I have also learned some interesting knowledge about the industry. Although teaching was conducted online most of the time due to the pandemic, I still gained a lot over the two years, including team work experience. Great thanks to all lecturers who gave me advice and support so that I could find the right direction for my future career development.

The programme taught me basic medical knowledge such as physiology and pharmacology, which is beneficial when I study related courses in the future. In addition to ordinary lectures, I can also try experiments such as pharmacy and dispensing in the laboratory through practical classes. This helped me to understand the technical contents in the lecture notes. Furthermore, lecturers always tried their best to teach us no matter during or after classes. They helped me to solve my questions on further studies too. Although there were not many face-to-face classes in the past two years due to the pandemic, I can still feel the efforts that lecturers put into teaching through online lessons.

I was extremely frustrated and puzzled when I received my DSE results because studying in university was just a pie in the sky. Fortunately, I enrolled in the Higher Diploma in Medical and Health Products Management at HPSHCC. This program is not only teaching academically, but also practically. It was grateful that I participated in the internship programme in a healthcare center and the two-week Taichung Chungshan Medical University study tour. The experiential learning enhanced my knowledge in radiography and the experience helped me better prepare myself to work in a real-world environment. I also want to thank all of my passionate lecturers and counselors who enable me to successfully articulate to the university at the end.

The 2-year programme, Higher Diploma programme in Medical and Health Products Management includes subjects like pathophysiology and pharmacology etc. I have acquired lots of crucial medical knowledge which is practical for my future study in university. Besides, lecturers are very kind and supportive. With their guidance and encouragement, I never felt helpless in my study journey. All in all, I undoubtedly had a great time at HPSHCC. "Hard work is a two-way street, you'll get exactly what you put in."

I want to say "thank you" to all of the lecturers who have taught me in these two years . As the President of 2019-2020 Students' Union at HPSHCC, I learnt a lot and I was glad to provide services to all students. I also wanted to thank the counsellors of Student Development Resource Centre; they gave me useful advice and support all the time.

Time flies. Two years of school life at HPSHCC has passed. I am glad to be a student ambassador in helping the promotion of the College. Affected by the pandemic, online teaching was adapted. However, this did not change my passion in the tourism and hospitality industry. Many thanks to all the lecturers who encouraged me to pursue my education goals.

Studying at HPSHCC for the past two years has been a turning point in my life as I have the second opportunity to get into university. People always say, ‘play hard, work hard’, which fully describes my study life. The programme curriculum covered tourism industry and events management. I had a deeper understanding about planning and managing events, which can prepare myself to further acquire knowledge in the events industry as my future career.
 
At HPSHCC, there are lots of extra-curricular activities that allow students to learn outside the classroom, and I also had a chance to make friends. I am also thankful to the lecturers and counsellors of SDRC who always gave me useful advice and support on achieving my goal.

The Higher Diploma programme in Medical and Health Products Management is definitely amazing. Courses such as pathophysiology, pharmacology, anatomy, and physiology are very useful to me. The lecturers are professional and supportive. With their guidance, I have acquired essential medical knowledge which is practical for my future study. In retrospect, I could not pursue my study without their support and encouragement and I undoubtedly had a great time at HPSHCC. Study well, have faith, and all the hard work paid off in the end. 

This all-rounded programme equipped students with professional skills and knowledge, such as marketing and human resources management, which allowed us to pursue further studies in different fields. I would like to express my sincerest thanks to all of the lecturers and classmates who gave assistance to me in the past two years.

I always wanted to enter the health care industry, however my DSE results failed to bring me a ticket there. This programme brought what it promised - general medical and pharmaceutical knowledge, practical experiences, an insight in different health care aspects and most importantly, a second chance to enter the university. To all of you who are still considering: If you have determined to join the health care industry, this is the right choice for you!

My two years of study at HPSHCC were my best learning experience. I had equipped with legal knowledge and professional skills to work in the legal field. I am really thankful to my teachers and the counsellors of Student Development Resource Centre who always motivated me to pursue my dream and to engage in different activities/opportunities provided by the College.
