"When I first came into the College, I was full of worries. I chose Psychology purely out of interest, but I did not know if it was a right decision. I was not sure whether what I learn would really relate to my future or not. However, it was thanks to the effort of the thoughtful and patient lecturers that I now have a much clearer picture with regards to my goals in life.
Now when I look back, I am thankful to have the College equip me with the required skills in the field of Psychology. In this campus, it is not about one-way teaching-and-learning, but two-way interaction. The lecturers are approachable and always encourage the students to explore methods to their solutions. Not only can students benefit from the joy of learning, but they are also given lots of opportunities to take part in various extra-curricular activities and services. I am glad to have become one of the Student Ambassadors during my time at the College, as it strengthens my interpersonal skills and provides me a chance to contribute to the college. These experiences could hardly be found in elsewhere."

The programme helped me to build up a strong foundation in the field of Tourism and Hospitality. The experienced lecturers are professional and made my study more interesting through their interactive teaching methods. They also shared their rich industrial experience and the latest information about the industry with us. Furthermore, the College also provides us with a great opportunity to broaden our horizon and experience, and apply the knowledge and skills learnt from classes through a 6-month placement. Therefore, I really enjoyed my school life in this College and gained working experience from the internship.

"In the past two years, my study was not only about learning theories at lectures. I also learnt through various projects, presentations, lab practical sessions and site visits to companies such as LSG-Skychefs. Through these experiences, I have learned how to apply the knowledge I have studied to daily life, e.g. to be proactive and think independently. I think these personal traits are essential for succeeding in the university.
Moreover, my College life was meaningful and enjoyable. I have made lots of good friends. Lecturers and counsellors here are very supportive. Thanks for their help. I feel so fortunate that I have got offers from HKU and Poly U and have a chance to pursue a degree programme."

This programme not only enabled me to learn particular knowledge about the tourism and hospitality industry, but it also provided me with a valuable opportunity to gain practical working experience through a 6-month internship in a 5-star hotel, The Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong. The lecturers are definitely professional and rich with experience of the hotel and tourism industry; as a result they were able to apply their theories into real life situations. Furthermore, the well-designed and top-rate facilities gave us direct insight into how to prepare ourselves before the placements and also for the future. During the past 2 years, there were also various visits to cruise ships, theme parks, hotels and Geoparks in which we were able to broaden our horizons.

It was a great and unforgettable experience for me to study at the College before I transferred to the Chinese University of Hong Kong. At the College, not only did I learn valuable academic knowledge during classes, but I also met a lot of trustworthy and kind friends. For my own personal development, I became more willing to socialise with my peers, think independently and to become more analytical – in turn this led me to become able to solve various difficulties with distinct proficiency.

School life at the College is different from that of traditional secondary schools. It not only offers a variety of activities for students, but also encourages students to seek advice from lecturers and student counsellors regarding their academic, personal and career development. What I have learned in the past two years, both academically and personally, would definitely prepare me for studying in university.

"The past three years studying at HKU SPACE Po Leung Kuk Stanley Ho Community College, I have learned to take great initiative in my studies. Not only did I learn valuable techniques within the accounting and financial industry, I also overcame my fear of speaking to large crowds during my presentations and projects. Not only did they form great relationships with the students through their teaching methods, but they also shared their years of experience within the field, which was greatly appreciated by me and my classmates.
Apart from studying, I also actively participated in activities organised by the College such as study tours, all of which enhanced my knowledge in the accounting field.
