During the two years of study at HKU SPACE Po Leung Kuk Stanley Ho Community College, I learnt a lot of medical knowledge and have developed self-awarenes. My self-esteem was enhanced through the supportive environment, encouragement and reflection. I was inspired by my lecturer who let me know/understand the importance of being a health care professional. All I have learnt from her opened myself to a new realm of science and guided me to a way to interpret things in a new perspective. The learning experience here has laid a solid foundation which I will take to my future academic and career paths.

Though my HKDSE result was unsatisfactory, my desire for study nursing did not diminish. Therefore, I decided to study the Higher Diploma programme in Medical and Health Products Management at HPSHCC. Not only had the lecturers taught us the professional knowledge in medical aspect, but also gave me a lot of advice on further studies. Apart from that, I also participated in volunteer services and other medical-related activities organized by the College. These experiences helped to consolidate my foundation for my further studies.

HPSHCC offers different types of internship opportunities. I was able to work as a club assistant at Disciplined Services Sports and Recreation Club where I learned the development of the industry and equipped myself with the real life experience. Please don’t give up easily because of unsatisfactory performance on the public exam. Instead, you could re-orient, manage your time, set new goals and strive for a better and brighter future.

At first, I doubted if I should choose this programme at HPSHCC. Yet after a full year of study, I can say for sure that I made the right decision. The quality of teaching here is of high standard. Besides, I have made a lot of new friends. I enjoyed my school life very much. I would like to thank all of the lecturers who have ever taught me. This programme is well structured. We had opportunites to learn the basic operations of some of the professional equipment during our first year of study which gave us the general knowledge when conducting experiment and understanding the lecture materials in our second year.
Moreover, we had visited Vegetable Marketing Oganization (VMO) and Food Marketing Organization (FMO) and learnt to set up Food Safety Management System for a company. The experience allowed me to have a better understanding of the industry.
Lastly, I am greatly thankful to the lecturers and counselors for their encouragement and advice.
