College Life

Thank you to HKU SPACE Po Leung Kuk Stanley Ho Community College for providing me with this wonderful opportunity to be able to continue studying what I like, and now I am able to get into a well-known university. HPSHCC has provided me with experienced and caring lecturers who helped me reach where I am today. I am also grateful for the learning environment provided by the school. I have made lifelong friends and connections with my teachers to many more endeavors.

During my two years study of Higher Diploma in Accounting Studies at the College, I gained a lot of experience. When I faced any problem in the lecture, I asked the lecturer for help. I am thankful to the lecturers who gave me many suggestions and taught me many accounting knowledge. In addition, the college gave me opportunities to participate in diverse activities, which benefited me a lot. Fellow students, don't be upset if you have failed in DSE, just do your best.

Through the two-year Higher Diploma in Medical and Healthcare Product Management, I consolidated my basic medical knowledge in anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, microbiology, and other related areas. I also deepened my interest in medical science, which helped me progress to medical-related programmes. I am grateful to the tutors for their careful teaching, which made it easier for me to understand the course content, and for their advice on further studies, which enabled me to successfully enroll in my favorite programmes.

Although my plans of getting into university didn't materialize after DSE, I refused to give up on my dream of pursuing higher education. Fortunately, my search for alternative pathways led me to discover the Higher Diploma in Medical and Health Products Management (MHPM) programme from HPSHCC online. Unlike traditional programmes, MHPM covers a wide range of medical aspects, including physiology, microbiology, and the manufacturing processes of medicines and health products. The programme's practical knowledge and skills are highly relevant to real-world situations. Moreover, the programme offers ample opportunities to use professional laboratory equipment, develop operational and analytical skills. Additionally, we can participate in field trips, internships, and talks hosted by industry experts. These experiences not only allow me to apply textbook knowledge but also broaden my horizons and provide me with various academic progression options. I am grateful to have found this programme which has helped me achieve my goal.

Two years ago, I felt frustrated and confused when I learned that I was not eligible for admission to universities. However, after studying at HPSHCC, I am grateful that I have been accepted into the programme that I have been pursuing. The two years of studying in the MHPM programme at HPSHCC have been very rewarding and fulfilling for me. A wide range of courses were offered, from anatomy and physiology to pharmaceutics, which certainly strengthened my understanding of health science. The contents of the programme are also very practical and can be applied in our daily lives. Additionally, all the lecturers are friendly and willing to provide advice that is beneficial to our future studies and careers. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to them for their endless support and guidance.

At HPSHCC, I had the opportunity to learn from experienced instructors and participate in practical, hands-on learning activities and practicums that helped me develop essential skills for my future career. The supportive and collaborative learning environment at the College also allowed me to connect with like-minded peers and build valuable networks that will benefit me in the years to come. Overall, my experience at HPSHCC was enriching and rewarding.

I will always remember my time while studying at HPSHCC. The College offers a top-notch learning atmosphere and internship opportunities. The lecturers are very friendly and welcoming to support and help us. The SDRC counsellors are willing to assist us with higher education matters. I am highly appreciative of their unwavering support.

Studying for a sub-degree program may be challenging, but if you never try, you will never know what you are capable of. All you need to do is work hard and have faith in yourself!

I faced setbacks in the past as I did not get satisfactory results in my public exam. Besides, I had heard so many judging phrases during my 3-year-study in the DFS programme and Higher Diploma. What I had leant is “The one who can help you change your future is yourself.” I am not sure how you feel when you saw this message, but it’s meaningless when you just look at someone’s successful cases and do no change yourself. Lastly, I would like to express my appreciation to all of my lecturers and the SDRC, which provided lots of support for my studies, cheers.

Two years ago, I chose to enroll in the Higher Diploma in Medical and Health Products Management because I could not get into the programme I wanted. The content covered in this programme is very practical and comprehensive, including medical instrumentation, anatomy and physiology, pathophysiology and microbiology, etc. This allowed me to consolidate my knowledge of basic medicine and science. In addition, the lecturers of the College are also very friendly. They not only answered my academic questions, but also provided a lot of advice on further studies. Finally, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the College and all the lecturers for their support and encouragement, which have helped me set goals to achieve my dreams.

The College provides all-round learning support, allowing me to adapt quickly to College life. The courses cover different professional fields, allowing me to know my goal. The school exchange tours provided the opportunity for us to go abroad and explore different cultures of the world. The internships recommended by the College also consolidated my knowledge and laid a stable foundation for the future.

The two-year higher diploma in accounting programme has expanded my knowledge in accounting as well as other business sectors. Honestly, I was worried at the start about how the environment is going to be but now I'm feeling happy and fulfilled as all the lecturers and classmates were considerate and helpful. These 2 years in higher diploma surely prepared me to perform even better in my upcoming 2 years bachelor's degree programme. This programme also assisted me to perform better during my internship where I applied all the practical skills and knowledge I derived from this programme into real life work experience. I enjoyed this phase a lot and I would like to thank all the lecturers, staff and friends who travelled with me in the past 2 years. HPSHCC is surely another path to success if your DSE result is not up to the mark. Cheers and good luck.
