College Life

The Higher Diploma in Medical and Health Products Management programme equipped me with essential knowledge of basic medical and pharmaceutical sciences such as microbiology and pharmaceutics. You may not be aware that oil can really mix with water into a continuous phase. I recalled that we had a laboratory practical for hand cream preparation through mixing aqueous and oily components well together using pharmaceutical techniques. Health products are becoming increasingly popular in the market and dispensing skills are vital and useful in our daily lives as well. I started to see the success in my future career by incorporating these two main elements in our community.

This programme provided me with the basic knowledge of community health, which is useful for further studies in related discipline. I had an elated College life in the past two years as I met many new good friends, as well as those nice and patient lecturers. They provided many precious opinions on my study plan, which definitely relieved my anxiety. I would like to express my heart-felt gratitude to them. Furthermore, my leadership skills were enhanced as I participated in different leadership programmes organised by the College. Lastly, I wish all of you have a prosperous future.

Before I studied at this College, I was not a highly motivated person. I have changed a lot in these two years, because the lecturers showed their care for me and helped me with my problems. Moreover, the programme has provided many opportunities to prepare me for Hong Kong’s medical and healthcare industry, such as internships and visits to laboratories and pharmaceutical factories. In addition, the learning content is similar to that of a university course, which has helped me lay a good foundation and make the transition easier.

In the past two years, the College provided students with the comfortable learning atmosphere, which assist students, like me to pursue my further study in university. The Higher Diploma in Business (Management) programme covers the knowledge and theories across various business fields. The comprehensive curriculum equips me with a solid foundation for future development. Moreover, lecturers and counsellors give full support to every student. Their suggestions and advices are very useful that help me successfully articulate to the university.

課程涵蓋營養和商業管理兩大專業範疇，兩者相輔相乖，有助認清自己的興趣、日後發展方向及目標，決心投身食品行業。另外，專業的講師教學認真，令我在課堂中獲益良多；他們熱心教學，課堂後也樂意抽空為學生補課，解答疑難，使我們更加明白不同的概念。

The programme is well-designed and prepares students to articulate to local and overseas universities. Diversified learning enriches my further career horizons. Lecturers are very helpful and willing to answer our questions. They provide useful guidelines and suggestions when we are confused. The two years at HPSHCC is full of joy and is fulfilling. I am glad to meet a group of good classmates and teachers.

The Higher Diploma in Medical and Health Products Management is a very unique programme. With the broad basic knowledge of medical and pharmaceutical sciences provided by the programme, students are provided with multiple articulation pathways, which we are eligible to apply for admission to different sciences or health-related programmes in the university. Moreover, the professional lecturers, well-designed curriculum and excellent learning environment have equipped me with a solid foundation for further study.

The programme is very practical. It certainly helps my future work and study. Harmonious relationship is established between students from different programmes. Lecturers teach not only during class time but also outside the classroom. They often encourage students to strive for their future goals. In addition, the College also offers different competitions and internships which allow students to apply their knowledge. The two-year college life really enriches my life.

The College provides students with a good learning environment and the programme structure allows non-accounting students to learn from basic accounting and build up our knowledge step by step. The programme team is very helpful and lecturers are so patient to answer our questions during classes and even outside class time. Lecturers always monitor our learning progress and help us to resolve difficulties by giving useful advices. I joined the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Business Case Competition in which we were asked to analysis the financial reports of Pak Fah Yeow. Through the competition, my analytical skills were enhanced. Lastly, I make many good friends who are energetic and positive.

I have acquired various professional knowledge of medical sciences, such as Anatomy and Physiology, Pharmacology and Medical Equipment and Healthcare Products, through the past 2-year study. Moreover, different projects and presentations provided me with valuable opportunities to improve my writing and presentation skills.

The two-year Higher Diploma in Nutrition and Food Management has taught me a wide variety of knowledge related to food and nutrition. It has also given me a valuable chance to meet new friends and study with them. HPSHCC’s Student Development Resources Centre (SDRC) hosts further study seminars frequently, guiding students through the university application process. I got a lot of useful information thanks to them.

In the past two years of college study, I have identified my strengths and weaknesses more accurately, and thus established my future direction more clearly. Although my academic path is sometimes rocky, I have been able to overcome barriers with the help from kind and thoughtful lecturers and consultants. I thank them so much!
