It is worthwhile to study the program of Higher Diploma in Nutrition and Food Management which provides me the knowledge of nutrition, the processing of food and biochemistry. Most of the courses are related to human life. Since life science is one of my interested fields, this program is definitely suitable for me. I chose this program as it is related to nursing in some aspects, such as the course of Human physiology and Anatomy. That means studying in it would be a stepping-stone and prerequisite for me to get in Bachelor of Nursing in The University of Hong Kong. I am so glad that I finally achieve my goal. It is possible to get a ticket of university if you put effort and hard work.

'We are what we eat!'This statement really impresses me a lot when I first looked at the information about this program. And now, I found that the time spent in the College is really unforgettable and I have gained a fruitful experience. The College provides me with a comfortable environment to learn and meet friends. Students of Nutrition and Food Management do not only learn in the classroom, we have much more fun in the food laboratory! We can decide our own recipes and learn different practical skills and knowledge at the same time. Moreover, Seoul study tour broadens my horizon last year. I am glad to have been one of the students in tour studying!

Studying Nutrition and Food Management in the College was incredibly fruitful and enjoyable. It made me become all-rounded and sent me to the path to university. Not only did the program place the emphasis on theoretical knowledge, but it also stressed much more on practical aspect. Apart from academic field, the College provided students with a myriad of opportunities to broaden their horizon via other learning experience such as the trip in South Korea, which was my great experience to study the culture of another country. Also, the counsellors in Students Development Resource Centre (SDRC) were supportive to render assistance and provide professional career guidance to us.

Being a pharmacist was my target when I was a senior secondary student. Unfortunately, I was unable to study in pharmacy in a local university due to the keen competition. Therefore, I preferred studying my favourable subjects at the College. After being a student of the College, I am deeply convinced that being a pharmacist is not the only thing I can do. Aside from the drug knowledge, I have been taught about physiology, microbiology and even selling techniques in the health product market. It is time for me to re-consider which type of occupation within the healthcare system is suitable for me. Additionally, I strongly believed that the favourable learning atmosphere is crucial to receive a local university offer. Since my classmates and I have clear targets on being a university student, we can easily come across with each other. Not only we discussed about the lectures, but also held some peer gatherings to relieve the study pressure.

The good learning atmosphere, the interactive teaching style, the teachers’ encouragement, the wonderful facilities and practice opportunities provided by the College made me become more mature. I was a student highly dependent on teachers in the past. However, studying at the College trained me to be more analytical and independent. Moreover, the Student Development Resources Centre in the College constantly held some talks about the university admission, such as application and interview skills, which helped me a lot in the University interviews. Finally, I get the offer from CUHK in third round interview. To conclude, the college life is hard but meaningful!

Studying at the College is a new grateful start of my academic life since I got a disappointing public examination result. At the helpless moment, it did give me a hand in continuing my academic view. Agreeably, lecturers in the College are always willing to teach us with zealous hearts which grant me a great deal of opportunities in acquiring new knowledge regarding to the medical and health products aspect. In my programme, what I had learnt is not only the knowledge from the lecture notes, but the practical dispensing and communication skills as well. To be frank, the 2-year experience at the College is really memorable and fruitful.

I have experienced an interesting college life and learnt deeper knowledge in nutrition at the College. The study mode here is similar to the one at universities, for example, an online platform is set for exchanging information between the College and students. The Student Development Resources Centre (SDRC) at the College also helps us to understand our career paths by providing career talks, graduate’s sharing and one-on-one consultation. The courses in programme equip my expertise in fundamental sciences and knowledge in food and nutrition.

After getting poor results in the public exam, I wanted to keep pursing my dream in the College. I had a wonderful time with my schoolmates and lecturers, who motivated my learning. Moreover, there were different courses for me to study, which broadened my knowledge in the field of social sciences. Also, the College provides a wide variety of activities to students, such as the Leadership Training Camp, and Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement Training Camp. When I first came to this school two years ago, I had no knowledge about the background of the chosen courses and was not sure whether it would suit me or not. All I wanted was to get out of here as soon as possible. Surprisingly, two years later, I realize that I actually enjoy the school life in the College. Interesting courses, dedicated teachers, helpful friends who have been through exams and presentations with me have made my study life in the College so fruitful and unforgettable.
