College Life

In the past two years, I have learned a lot of business knowledge such as business statistics and economics, which effectively help my career development in accounting field. The College offers a wide range of workshops for university interviews. I would like to thank my lecturers who taught me during the past two years; especially the time they spent on preparing a lot of examples during lectures that assist us better understand those difficult concepts. I have also made some good friends, which we learn and grow together.

Because of the supportive classmates and lecturers, studying at the College has been very fruitful and memorable. This programme has offered me an alternative path towards university and the opportunity to reconsider my goals. Through theoretical and practical teaching, I am provided with a solid foundation for future study and work, especially in the area of medical science.

This programme has provided me with the all-round knowledge in sport and recreation industries. I have learnt valuable specialist knowledge and gained the practical skills for my future studies or career developments. Lecturers are friendly and helpful. They were more than willing to share their personal experiences, assisting us to identify our goals. Moreover, they provided many professional opinions about our future plans. During the past 2 years, students had the opportunity to take part in the summer internship, in which we had the chance to work in reputable sport or recreation organisations. The internship programme has explored my horizon and equipped me with rich practical working experiences. To share with all students who would like to enroll in this programme, “you reap what you sow”, with your hard work and the resources provided by the College and the programme, you would not be far from your dream.

Lecturers are friendly and they care about every student very much. They always encourage and teach us a motto “attitude decides your future”. After that, my learning attitude changed. I started to work harder on my study, which my results have been greatly improved. Besides, the well-equipped facility, such as the Food and Nutritional Science Laboratory, provided an ideal place for practical classes in which my practical skills were enhanced. I had lots of valuable memories at this wonderful College.

During these two years I have significantly advanced my leadership and personal skills, which can equip me well for the future. The support from lecturers have not only enabled us to overcome academic difficulties, but also consolidated our knowledge of the hotel industry. The challenges in our internship have been very effective learning. I have learnt that you should always remember your goal and never get frustrated easily; do not hesitate to ask for help and stay positive.

Automated pharmacy definitely can reduce medical incidents. In the past years, I worked as a dispenser in different contexts, such as community pharmacy, nursing home and private clinic. Although the job duties of a dispenser in different areas vary, all of them require good skills, so as to avoid any human errors due to the heavy workloads. The application of advance technology in dispensing can reduce the workload of a dispenser as well as to minimise human errors. I am now working as a system analyst in a renowned medical company, which develops the automatic dispensing system. Since I have learnt different knowledge in the areas of medical and pharmaceutical sciences when studying the Higher Diploma and the university degree programmes, I am able to serve customers by providing them with accurate information on various medical products.

My target was to get into a local university when I first enrolled in this programme. I did not have a clear idea aboutmy interestand further study plan. After studying at this College for two years, I have changed a lot. Since this programme consists of two academic fields, with various business and social sciences related courses, it helps me to figure out my targets in the future. All lecturers are willing to help us to achieve our dreams. In the past two years, I believe I have proved the saying 'practice makes perfect'.

My past 2 years learning at this College is wonderful! I learnt a lot. All classmates are friendly and willing to share their learning experiences with each other. Lecturers are extremely professional that they always provide me with the essential knowledge for further studies. Besides, I particularly appreciate the staff, especially the counsellors of this College. They give crucial advice about my further study, especially during the process of choosing the suitable programme for further articulation. Thanks this College for giving me a second chance to pursue my dream, to be a University student.

Many people regard studying an associate degree as a path for the unsuccessful in HKDSE and JUPAS. I see it as an alternative route to realising my dream. The programme has deepened my understanding and passion in psychology, thus laying a solid foundation for future studies. The lecturers are professionals in their respective industries; their dedicated teaching and sharing have helped us to identify our goals. After these two years, I strongly believe that whatever hardships that come my way, I can overcome them and fulfill my dreams.

Studying at this College has benefitted me enormously. Apart from gaining food and nutritional science knowledge in lectures, we also had hands-on application, such as designing meals and cooking in the nutrition laboratory. Lecturers are friendly and encouraging; they were patient in dealing with my further study enquiries and gave me helpful suggestions when I was feeling lost. The Student Development Resources Centre (SDRC) offers various kinds of activities, like talks on further studies and career planning, mock interviews and consultations, all of which have bettered my understanding of university admission requirements and improved my interview skills. In addition, my interpersonal skills and social network have been enhanced through participating in the Students' Union and other societies. All in all, studying at HPSHCC has facilitated my all-round development.

The Higher Diploma in Medical and Health Products Management programme equipped me with the basic knowledge of medical and health sciences. The learning experience at this College helped strengthen my belief that a future career in medical laboratory science would be suitable to me. As I am now working in a medical science laboratory, I will be able to register as a medical laboratory technologist upon completion of the part-time studies in medical laboratory science offered by HKU SPACE.

I am glad that I enrolled in this programme after the HKDSE. Thanks for the lecturers because I have gained the fundamental knowledge and prepared myself for entering the university. They are willing to give suggestions whenever we have a question. To finish the assignments on time and to revise every week are two big tips for achieving good results at this College. Although it is a bit longer for successfully articulating to the university, it is still worth to try our best to strive for our goals.
